Keri Russell
It’s not every day Bare gets to talk about bears but Keri Russell, our dear friend and muse, is starring in “Cocaine Bear” (in theaters now), so we couldn’t resist a little cross-promotion. The movie is based on true events that happened back in the 80’s — when, yes, said bear consumed a lot of cocaine. Needless to say, the movie is a riot and will satisfy any urge you may have to explore an altered state. But back to Keri! We had the honor of snagging some BTS shots as she prepared for the movie’s press tour/premiere and were even able to get a few words on her number one beauty/health treatment, beer of choice and Bare essentials. Be on the lookout for this incomparable lady in Apple TV’s anthology “Extrapolations” and “The Diplomat” coming to Netflix April 20th.
The Bare Magazine: What were the key hair and makeup touches that contributed to your Cocaine Bear 80's look?
Keri Russell: Full-volume bob hair. and BANGS! Or, as they say in Ireland where we shot the film, FRINGE. Also, big bushy brows, which to me are always in style.
Bare: What are a few beauty treatments you go to a salon or spa for?
KR: Massage is my number-one health and beauty treatment. In my older age, I really find inflammation sneaking up on me. Massage helps enormously with that. It helps everything. I have also been converted to fancy facials when I can afford them. I think Joanna Vargas is excellent. I love a big bushy brow and think Kristie Streicher for microfeathering is the queen. I'm also no stranger to a keratin and will take it from whomever is willing…these days, Marie Robinson salon.
Bare: Would you say you love a good beer on occasion? What's your favorite, and would you consider it self-care?!
KR: Of course I would consider it self care. It’s the only way to get through the premier press line. My one and only choice is PERONI.
Bare: We noticed you're wearing glasses in a few photos—they look so cool. Do you have a favorite pair?
KR: Caddis has so many styles I like.
Effortlessly chic for Kelly Clarkson
Bare: Can you catch us up on your daughter Willa's latest makeup or style obsession?
KR: Well…it’s tough to keep up! She did just venture into some Wednesday-inspired bangs…
