Jillian Shea Spaeder is one of our favorite muses and longtime supporters with the most lovely mane of natural curls. She launches our new series GIRLS W CURLS. This sweet beauty drove in from Philly to shoot with us in NYC. We met up at our favorite vintage shop Cure Thrift and had a blast. Check out this talented actor/musician below as she let’s her curly Q’s fly free and a few words on caring for her locks and bare hair essentials.
“A lovely lady named Shelby cuts my hair! She usually cuts it wet but she has a great understanding of the fact that it will shrink up. I have had my hair cut way shorter than expected before. but never with her!”
“On a typical day I just let it air dry! If I’m dressing up and using product I will use a diffuser.”
“I usually shampoo 2 or 3 times a week. I’m never sure what you’re supposed to do but that is what I’ve found works the best for me. Every day I use conditioner and brush it through.”
“I love having my hair straightened! I feel like a completely different person. But I only straighten it once or twice a year so I don’t damage my hair too much!”
JILLIAN SHEA’S BARE HAIR ESSENTIALS:
I rarely use product but when I do I love using leave in conditioner. I also think that rinsing cold water through it helps keep in some moisture. Next I’d say a good messy bun. Some days the hair just isn’t going to cooperate! Fourth I really like the Deva Curl Frizz Fighting Foam. It works great for pony tails and messy buns. Lastly I try not to be too aggressive when drying my hair with a towel.
