The Bare Magazine: What are you enjoying most these days about living back in NYC?

Arielle Kebbel: I’m loving fall. Growing up in Fl and then living in California, I didn’t get to experience seasons the way we get them here in NY. I feel like I’m living in the movie Baby Boom and hope I always feel that way. Also, I love you Diane Keaton.

Bare: Did you enjoy our vintage shopping spree and spreading the joy of repurposing clothing?

AK: Shopping vintage is a unique experience because every piece you find you know is truly one of a kind. Liz has created a special atmosphere at Cure Thrift as there’s everything from clothes, to jewlery, to kitchenware to furniture. Most importantly, everything you purchase goes towards helping finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes. I respect what she’s built and it’s meaningful for me to support her cause, as many loved ones in my life have been diagnosed with diabetes.

Bare: Besides acting would you say connecting with wildlife and horses is tops on your list? When did your love for horses begin?

AK: I basically came out of the womb asking to ride horses. I’ve always felt connected to them. I remember as a kid, finally taking my first riding lesson at 5 yrs old, galloping around the ring feeling like this is it. I’m doing what I’m meant to do.

Bare: Fill is in on the horse you recently adopted - and some of the politics involved that people might be surprised to hear?

AK: I recently adopted a wild mustang. I am so in awe of her, she inspires me everyday to keep fighting for animal rights and using my voice to protect the voiceless. I’m currently developing a project to raise awareness around wild mustang round ups and horse slaughter, as most people have no idea in America we ship horses off to slaughter daily. I’m proud to serve on the board of Skydog Ranch, a horse and burro rescue organization that has saved over 250 horses. Clare Staples the founder has taught me so much and I’ll continue to do whatever I can to support her tireless efforts to give wild horses and burros a safe place to call home. Please check out SkyDog Ranch - for more information and ways you can help.

Bare: Can you take us through a typical day on the farm? From your usual breakfast and fitness routine/chores...you're in such incredible shape!!

AK: Honestly, I think the key sometimes is being flexible in your routine. There was a time in my life where I was so regimented and needed a certain kind of control to feel good about myself. Over the years it’s felt really great to listen to my body more and go with the flow. Some days that means a hike in the woods along the river, some days it means more rest and not pushing myself. No matter what, barn days are my favorite days. I spend as much time as I can with the animals enjoying the outdoor air. That means brining my laptop and working there too.

Bare: Your skin is so luminous ...do you have a skincare regime/diet you can give us some details on?

AK: Water water water. I carry one of the gallon water bottles around , the cast on 911 inspired me to get one. It helps keep me be accountable for my water intake throughout the day. I feel very fortunate I’m always trying new products so I don’t stick to one thing all the time. I like switching it up. Lately I’ve been on oil cleansers, Caudalie makes a great one. My skin stays hydrated longer with them especially as the NY weather changes. I’ve also been using Dr. Sturm moisturizer cream + Dr. Sturm hyloronic acid. 302 face oil and I just ordered a Solawave, have you used one? I’m looking forward to trying it. Lastly, I’ve been using Bare Minerals tinted moisturizer as my foundation. It has spf and a nice glow for barely there natural coverage.

Bare: We love you go from barely there makeup to full glam. Do you feel as time goes you become comfortable in your skin and embrace qualities that make your beauty so unique?

AK: Well that makes me warm and fuzzy on the inside. Being creatively involved with hair, makeup and wardrobe is an extension of who I am. So enjoying the choices I make from a simple daily look to full on glam reminds me every moment can be exciting. It’s a reflection of where I am and how I’m feeling that day.

Bare: You also have such a comfort in front of the camera - you had some modeling days before acting, is it something you still enjoy?

AK: I love modeling, I actually miss it. To me it feels similar to creating a character on set. You get to tell a story through fashion and collaborate with a photographer similar to collaborating with a director. I have a certain respect for modeling as it taught me a lot early on and it was one of the first ways I learned to express myself creatively. Post-horses, pre-acting.

Bare: Can you share some info on projects you are working on or producing?

AK: We are producing a film with 20th century Fox that speaks to my love of the early 2000s. And I’m in development on two different tv projects I’m excited to share more about soon.
